How to Drink Lemon Water to Balance pH Levels

How to Drink Lemon Water to Balance pH Levels

A diet that is high in processed foods and sugar results in an unbalanced pH level. This can keep the body from removing toxins, leaving it venerable to viruses and slowing the metabolism. Lemon water can stabilize your pH level and blood sugar, helping your body naturally detoxify. Though lemons are often thought to be acidic, they actually have a pH level higher then seven, which means they have an alkalizing effect on the body. This will cancel out some of the excess acid stored in the body.

Instructions

    1

Clean a lemon and cut it into slices.

    2

Add a slice of lemon into a glass of water. Juice one directly into the water. You could also add all the slices into a pitcher of water and drink it throughout the day.

    3

Drink the six to eight glasses of water with lemon per day.

    4

Test your saliva or urine with a pH test strip. You can expectorate onto a strip or urinate onto one to find out where your pH level is. Ideally, you want a pH of seven. It's better to have a slightly higher number rather than a slightly lower one. This is because viruses, bacteria, mold, and fungi all thrive in an acidic environment. Remember that stressful events in your life can effect your results as much as a poor diet.
