How to Find Physician Ratings

Even under the best circumstances, choosing the right physician can be difficult. And if you don't have any recommendations, it can feel like you're going into a situation cold. Fortunately, there are many companies that have created free services, allowing prospective patients to read physician reviews and ratings.

Instructions

    1

Check out Vitals.com. This company allows you to look up doctors by name or zip codes and generates information such as education, residency, awards and hospital affiliation. You can also read patient reviews about the doctor.

    2

Research your doctor at Health Grades. This company provides patients many helpful resources, including doctor reviews and background information. They also have doctors who are available live to answer questions immediately.

    3

Read physician ratings at Physician Reports. This is a survey center that allows current patients to speak to prospective patients about the quality of care, and how the doctor ranks.

    4

Search the MD Nationwide database. This gives free access to the top rated doctors in the country and allows you to determine if a doctor is in good standing with the local state.

    5

Review ratings at Dr. Score. This is a company that allows patients to leave anonymous feedback about doctors across the nation. Prospective patients also have access to doctor ratings and reviews online.
