Green coffee bean extract is chocked full of powerful anti-oxidants similar to those found in grape seed and green tea. Green coffee beans contain polyphenols, which act to reduce free radicals in the body.
All coffee beans include chlorogenic acid, a compound that absorbs free radicals, which can lead to cancer. However, green coffee beans contain a great deal more of this chlorogenic acid compound. Roasting the beans removes some of these properties.
Instructions
- 1
Purchase green coffee beans. Any type of bean will do. Normally, coffee beans from places like Columbia, Hawaii and Brazil are high-quality beans that produce richer, stronger coffee. High-quality beans contain greater amounts of polyphenols.
2Brew the green coffee beans. Measure out 2 oz. green coffee beans to 12 oz. distilled water. Place in a teapot or sauce pan. Bring to a boil and then turn down the heat, allowing the brew to simmer for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool approximately one hour.
3Take the green coffee bean extract. If using this brew for health purposes, the green coffee extract can be taken twice daily. Sugar, honey or some other type of sweetener can be added to improve the taste.
