How to Juice Detox

There are a variety of reasons why you might consider a juice detox . These reasons include overcoming addiction and improving your health. In a juice detox, meals that consist of solid foods are replaced by fruit and vegetable juices. Some people believe a juice detox will help clear toxins out of the body. They say a juice detox will also relieve the stress on the intestines by freeing up energy that would be used for digestion. The result is the feeling of increased energy and general well-being.

Instructions

    1

Eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables a week before you will detox. Eliminate all junk food and meat. This will ease the side effects of detoxing your body.

    2

Decide which type of juice diet you will use to detox. Choices include drinking only one kind of juice such as orange juice or drinking a combination of different vegetable and fruit juices. Choosing a mix will provide the body with more nutrients but will put more stress on the digestive system.

    3

Place the fruits or vegetables into a juicer. Choose the size according to what you will be juicing. For example if you will only be fasting on oranges, all you need is an orange juicer.

    4

Drink one glass of juice as soon as you wake up. According to the Juice Fasting website, "For meal times (breakfast, lunch and dinner), drink between 8 and 12 oz. (250 ml to 350 ml) each time in place of a meal. In between meals, continue to drink juices alternating with pure drinking water."

    5

Decide how long you want to fast. For beginners, it is common to fast for one to three days. Ease out of the fast by continuing to drink juice and eating light meals.
